Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will handle customer calls, transfer prescriptions in/out where applicable and allowable by law, input prescriptions, and fill and package prescription. The ideal candidate is proactive, tech-savvy, and thrives in a fast-paced mail-order pharmacy environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure friendly and helpful customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, answering questions, and addressing concerns related to mail services and procedures.
  2. Adhere to security protocols and compliance requirements when handling sensitive or regulated mail, such as medical or pharmaceutical shipments.
  3. Check the eligibility of members before filling.
  4. Transfer the script to our third party if applicable.
  5. Use pharmacy management software to enter prescription data, create and maintain patient profiles, and process refills.
  6. Accurately select medications from stock, count and/or measure medications, and place them into appropriate containers with correct labeling.
  7. Package and/or repackage medications in accordance with pharmacy procedures and safety standards.
  8. Organize incoming and outgoing mail and packages based on specific criteria, such as destination, type, or urgency, to drive accuracy and efficiency.
  9. Utilize proper package handling methods that promote the safe handling and processing of packages and ensure proper documentation for tracking and delivery.
  10. Document and tracks the movement of mail and packages, ensuring accurate documentation and providing updates on delivery statuses.
  11. Operate mail processing equipment, such as scanners, printers, and barcode readers, ensuring functionality and troubleshooting minor issues.
  12. Collaborate with delivery personnel to ensure the timely and accurate distribution of mail and packages.
  13. Work with colleagues and supervisors to maintain efficient workflows, address challenges, and improve overall mail processing operations.
  14. Observe inventory levels of supplies, such as envelopes, labels, and packaging materials, assisting with new orders as needed.


Qualifications:

  1. PTCB Certification (REQUIRED)
  2. 5 years of pharmacy technician experience
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  4. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  5. Comfortable working in a pharmacy and warehouse environment
  6. Highly responsive and works with a sense of urgency
